Estate Los Angeles
We are privileged to re-team with the Canales Family and usher in the next iteration of their award- winning specialty micro lots.
Tracing our coffee journey
Norman and Edy Canales established Estate Los Angeles 15 years ago, blending tradition with innovation. They cultivate both classic varieties like Caturra and Bourbon and exciting new ones like Parainema, known for its superior taste.
We are privileged to re-team with the Canales Family and usher in the next iteration of their award- winning specialty micro lots.
Timeline
โ 2013
Initial contact made with the Family where we visited their Estate and got to meet the patriarch (Don Daniel Canales), this was our introduction to specialty coffee and for this reason we hold the family to the highest esteem possible.
โ 2014-2019
We worked extensively every year with the family in bringing exclusive coffee lots that matched the expectations we were looking for while providing progessive and forward tasting coffee lots that differed from much of the Nicaraguan coffee's at the time.
โ 2020-2022
Covid-19 Pandemic caused enough disruption that we had to scale down our offerings while we were able to pivot and restructure.
โ 2024
Reconnected with the Family and decided to support Estate Los Angeles after cupping numerous of their offerings and deciding that this was the ideal washed coffee to present to our clients.
Lot information
Their coffee production involves a detailed 24 to 30-hour fermentation period, after which the beans are washed and sun-dried for 3 days. They are then transferred to the shade for 18 to 22 days to complete the drying process, ensuring optimal flavor development.
Developing the perfect flavour
To perfect their coffee, the Canales brothers store the beans for at least one month. This resting period allows the coffeeโs attributes to fully develop, delivering a rich and well-rounded flavor that shines through in every roast.
